Feedback & Inbox

By Luke Melia

Hey, everyone. Thank you so much for all the comments, replies and feedback about your new home page! It's great to know that so many of you are using Weplay and helping us think creatively about how we can make the site better for everyone. Here are Weplay HQ in New York City, we spend lots of time discussing and thinking about your questions and ideas. So keep them coming!

Speaking of feedback, you all had lots to say about the new Inbox. I'd like to cover the top three issues that came up, and what we're doing about them:

1) "Where is my Inbox?"

When we first launched the Inbox, the only way to get to it was from the left hand side of your home page. It's an important feature, though, and it deserved to be easier to get to. So it's now got a big link in the top navigation that appears at the top of every page on the site, right next to "Home." If you have any new messages, we'll show you how many right next to it. No number there, no new messages. Don't forget to send someone a private message, you can go to your Inbox and then click "Write message."

2) "How do I delete a message?"

We forgot about that! Fortunately, web developer (and golfer) extraordinaire, Ross, has whipped up the ability for you to remove any messages you've already read. Just click the "X" in the box on the right-hand side of the message. Delete a message by mistake? Ross has you covered: Just click "Undo".

3) "What happened to my public comments?"

On the old dashboard, you had private messages and public comments mixed together. The same module also appeared on your profile. Confused by that? So were we. Here's the new world: you read and write private messages in the Inbox; leave public comments for friends on their profile pagess, and go to your profile to see what your friends have written. We've got some ideas kicking around to make public comments cooler and more integrated with the activity feed, but more on that another time!

Remember, Inbox is for members 13 and older right now. Kids, we know you want to talk to your friends, and we're working on figuring out a way to let you do just that. Hang tight!

That's it for today. Whether your current sport takes place on a field, a court, the beach, or at your local skatepark, get out there and make your Weplay friends proud!

Oh, I almost forgot -- one more fun thing courtesy of our friend Ross: when you beat your current high score in Grand Slam Derby, we'll add an item to your friends activity feeds with your new high score as a friendly little challenge. Glad you're liking the game by the way. Stay tuned for more news on that front.
