Concussion Education: Tips for Everyday Parents & Coaches

By Candice Coots

Last month, Debbie Bracewell and Kymber Del Mastro Veautour, participated in the ERG Youth Concussion Forum.

The 4-part live webcast series featured expert faculty comprised of pediatric physicians, neurologists, and psychologists. Topics included the latest developments in concussion research, legislation, diagnosis and treatment.

The forum provided a timely dialogue between concussion experts and parents, coaches, school staff, administrators and youth league representatives. The main objective however, was to give attendees the knowledge and tools to build and activate concussion response plans both in the home and at school.

Both Debbie, who is the executive director of the NCSEE, a cheer coach safety group, and Kymber, a veteran all-star coach, compiled short articles about their experience at the forum. Included in each of their pieces are informative tips and feedback that is sure to benefit interested Weplay parents and coaches.
