One of the many advantages of being a team mom is getting to know all the coaches, parents, and players. Being the “point person” for everyone involved offers team moms a special connection with the group. Our Team Mom of the Week, Suzanne Wynn, of Natick, Massachusetts, says that her background as both a coach and team mom has provided her with a unique experience.

She first volunteered as team mom when her son, 14 year-old Oliver, was selected to be a member of the Mass Premier Soccer (MPS) U15 Bulldogs. The team was looking for a new manager that season, and Wynn volunteered for the role right away. Wynn felt that she had what it takes, and that it would be a great opportunity for her to get to know fellow parents.

Wynn, now entering her third year as team mom has found her experience as the coach of her two daughters Haley, and Julia’s travel soccer team has provided her with the tools to succeed. She uses her knowledge of the sport from coaching, and experience as a mom to identify with every member of the team.

Outside of youth sports, Wynn works for a health services company and is happily married to her husband Rick. Together they have four kids, three of which participate on their mom's team. In a few years, their youngest son Charlie may join too.

Wynn is excited to see how this season pans out, and knows that if the Bulldogs continue to work hard they could make it to the Super Y Nationals like they did last year!
