Call the Shot - Olympic Speed Skating

By Candice Coots in

We’re just three weeks and one day away from the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Time is marching on!

And the Weplay community is most definitely feelin’ the Olympic spirit, especially when it comes to the Call the Shot caption contest.

There were 13 caption submissions this week on our hockey photo, and I have to say, ya’ll are getting good at this! I almost can’t choose.

John Presciutti wrote, “Nobody move, I lost a contact lens!”.

Weplay’s Marketing guru Trevor Sumner brought me back to my Lord of the Rings fixation with his, “Where is it … my precious ….”

Previous CTS winner, Coach Tyrone, nearly secured a repeat win with this, “BREAKING NEWS: 'After the stadium announcer said "Global warming is coming" here's a picture of these players taking matters into their own hands as they quickly dive onto the ice to lick it before it melts away.' FILM AT ELEVEN."

But Chloe Nguyen had me with her, “where are the cookies?? WHERE ARE THE COOKIES?!?!”

I mean come on. If you’re going to do a nosedive into the ice, do it for the love of your favorite delicious cookie treat. I would have done anything for a Grandmother’s cookie as a kid…probably still would.

Now onto to this week’s CTS image. I think this is a beautiful picture of the Canadian women’s speed skating team practicing. Look at the horizontal vectors across the ceiling and formation of the skaters. Plus, this is a sneak peak at the Richmond Oval in British Columbia – the official 2010 speed skating Olympic venue.

It’s your job to Call the Shot. Submit the best caption and you could a Weplay t-shirt just like Chole!

Policeman said to victim Mr. Apollo Ono, "So, can you identify from our lineup which lady it was that ducked down and skated across the pond to get away with your medals?"
