  1. FRIDAY, JAN 14, 2011

There have been some huge wins this week in the world of basketball.

Powerhouse Duke, lead by Kyle Singler (a southern oregon kid just like me), got knocked from atop the college basketball pedestal when Florida State defeated the Blue Devils 66-61 Wednesday.

The NBA courts produced a different kind of upset when Kobe Bryant and the Los Angles Lakers pounded the Cleveland Cavaliers 112-57 at the Staples Center earlier this week. The defending NBA Champs were just two points shy of doubling their lead. Ouch!

But our most important wins of the week come from Weplayers across the nation, as we highlight the best youth basketball action photos in our next Weplays from the Court.

  4. SUNDAY, DEC 12, 2010

Will Carmelo Anthony ditch the Denver Nuggets for the limelight that only Madison Square Garden can offer? The New York Knicks are on winning streak. #15 may want to capitalize on the imminent rise of a long-battered franchise. Of course, he could also accept a $65 million contract extension with the Nuggets.

Either way, none of that matters much to the athletes and teams featured in our next Weplay From the Court basketball slideshow. Aggressive, determined and always up for the hustle, each of these youth basketball players show us how they perform from the court, sans the multimillion dollar contract distractions.

Holding it down in this week's slideshow are:

Rapid City Titans, Rapid City, SD.

    Michigan Prowlers, De Witt, MI.

AYBC Boys 7B Team, Alexandria, MN.

The Bulls 1st-2nd YMCA Fall, Broomfield, CO.

6th A Rangers, Forest Lake, MN.

    Prince William Hoyas, Woodbridge, VA.

    Macomb Basketball, Macomb, IL.
